do not have any burn options

hey so i have purchased about 1500 song from itunes directly onto my ipad, i have now downloaded the newest version of itunes onto my laptop. i connect my i pad to my laptop and created a new playlist in the hopes of burning it to a disc. once i am in my new play list and click the file button there is no option for me to burn it to cd. i dont know what i am doing wrong.
