Q: How can I get Final Cut Pro 7?

I would like to get Final Cut Pro 7. Is this possible? If so, does the Studio version have motion, etc.?

    Final Cut Pro 7 is part of Final Cut Studio 3, which is EOL. Copies sell on Amazon and elsewhere for steep prices. Your best bet is probably a used copy on ebay.

     

    And yes, FCS includes Motion, DVDSP, Compressor, and Color.

    Just looked at the FCPX in the app store. The price is better - do I then buy Motion seperately? Would you suggest a good workbook?

    Motion and Compressor are separate. 

     

    And know, that FCP-X is unlike FCP 7 in just about every way possible.  The way it works is vastly different. And you cannot open FCP 7 or 6 projects in it without buying a 3rd party converter.

     

    Now, I hear many people like it...I just wanted you to know that it is VERY different from FCP 7

    Thanks for the info. I tried the demo version of X a while back and was pretty disappointed. But I saw where it's been upgraded and more folks seem to like it. Agh! Decisions!!
