incompatible format

incompatible format

My project stops in burn stage. Error says "cannot write medium, incompatible format." The discs are -R and 16x speed.

Powermac G5 2.0 dual, Mac OS X (10.4)

Hi Mitch:

Try using DVD-R at 4x or less.

Higher speed media = trouble for iDVD 4.

I've been using 16x discs for a year, never had a problem. The latest error said, "record device not ready," cannot write medium, incompatible format"

The project is only 10 minutes long. I usualy burn up to an hour.

Frustrated...

You know, I have read about the fact that some get that error when the laser lens is dirty in the burn drive.

Just something else to think about...
