Q: Can I send Apps from the store as gifts?

Hi..

Click the black down facing arrow just to the right of the price of an app.

If you can send as a gift, it will say: Gift This App

I am referring to the Mac App Store. I haven't seen nearly as many apps available for gifting from the MAS as iTunes but keep in mind, the MAS is relatively new comparred to iTunes and may take awhile for more to be available.

An alternative might be to purchase an iTunes gift card that can be sent to the recipient so they can download apps from the MAS >  iTunes Gift Options

We cannot do that in the Mac App Store. You can use that form to send a suggestion directly and hope they will add that functionality in a next update.
