What do you mean by 'clearing'?
Erase all of your content, but retain OS X, for example, selling it to someone else.
Repair the current OS X installation because of recurring errors.
Erase only unneeded files and applications, making more space available to add new apps or files.
Here are some options for OS X 10.5 'Leopard'.
(All of them assume you have the original OS X system discs that shipped with your computer, and the OS X 10.5 'Leopard' disc, if it was purchased as an upgrade.)
