I have had this issue a couple of times where finalcut doesnt import photos properly.
here is an example.

What are the exact specs of the file, color type and bit depth? Does it look the same when you open the file in the timeline by double clicking on it? Do you have your System Prefs Displays set to default color?
How can i find out your needed specs?
and it looks the same when i open it in the timeline, everything else is default. i even tryed exporting to see if maybe it was just a glitch and it exports the same way, yellow 😟.

Open the file in Photoshop and make sure it's 8-bit RGB.
Open the image in Preview.app and once open, go the menu Tools > Show Inspector.
When that open, click on the second tab (the one with the "i" in the circle) to see the info:

i kind of went arround this problem and meged all my layers on photoshop and i saved it by going to file>Save for web & devices and saved it as PNG 24
