Does the Asus BW-12D1S-U work with the MacBook Pro with Retina display?

I ordered a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display, and I want to be able to burn Blu-rays. Will any of these external Blu-ray burners work with my new laptop?

ASUS USB 3.0 12X Blu-ray Burner Model BW-12D1S-U/BLK/G/AS
Plextor PX-B310U 6x Blu-ray Combo Super Multi Drive
LITE-ON USB 3.0 12X External Blu-ray Disc Writer Model eHBU212-08 LightScribe Support

I have a Mac desktop too, so if an external Blu-ray burner will not work I am going to get an internal Blu-ray burner and install in on my desktop (the LG WH12LS38K). I would prefer to get an external Blu-ray burner so I can use it on both my laptop and desktop.

Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I use a different ASUS - plugged it in, it worked. Burns well. Obviously need to purchase software to watch blu-ray, but I'm using it to store data.

Will the LITE-ON one work cause that's the cheapest, 12x speed, burns dual layer DVDs and Blurays and has Lightscribe support. Also does anyone know if there are DL Blurays?

In general you should be fine, but it wouldn't hurt to contact the manufacturer and ask about compatibility. If it works with OS X on USB 3, 2 will work but slower. As for density - there are 50GB bluray disks. Nice for storage.

I have a iMac mid-11. is the BW-12D1S-U Lite compatible? the specs say it needs a minimum of 3.4 ghz cpu. been upgrading the OS even time, now at macOS sierra
