Convert Apple midi Loops

Just from the file names in the loops library, it appears that midi loops are stored as .aif files. Is there any way to conver them to .mid files?

MIDI Loops are MIDI loops, they have a preview file so that the instrument doesn't have to be loaded for each, which is an AIFF.

I don't know, but if I made an HT-SWAG™ I'd guess they are stored in some proprietary format (It appears MIDI data in each song is saved collectively into a single file, it's very possible the loops are stored in a similar fashion. --Hang

Thanks for the references. So it looks like aif files can contain midi data as well as audio. Now all I have to do is find a utility that can extract the midi and save it to a more common midi format.
