My screen turns off and the iPad locks itself randomly at the most inopportune times and often it'll occur repeatedly, leaving me constantly unlocking it. Any ideas?
Did you set the timing on your Auto-Lock?
Settings>General>Auto-Lock
I don't think it's that, at times I'll be reading a book from it or looking at the web and there's no problems. The next day I'll be doing exactly the same thing in the same position and it'll lock itself, then when I unlock it, it'll instantly lock itself again. Repeated attempts to unlock it will result in the iPad locking itself after varying periods of time (usually 1 - 20 seconds)?
I think the only scientific posibilty is that theres a ghost in side of your ipad. Acctually though, its possilbe theres a bad connection with the battery and sleep switch. Just throwin out guesses.
"This solved my question" - That's about the best idea I've come up with too! I bought two last year and my girlfriend's doesn't have the same problem, she's been hassling me to get it looked at under warranty, just thought I'd check on here first to see if it was occurring elsewhere.

but about the switch, thats the only thing i really could think is wrong. Unless firmware is corupt. Which i dout.
I've changed the function of the switch on the side to lock the screen from rotating, but the problem existed before and after I did this....
I just made an appointment for tomorrow morning so we'll see what happens.
