how to change account name or apple id

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Start by changing it with Apple:

Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account

Then change it on your devices:

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

I have an old mac apple id, i hate the name combination and I use another mac/icloud email address which is much better and I'd like to make this my new apple id. I've logged out of my iphone and mac but I am not getting the option in 'manage id' to change my apple id, only my name and email address (which doesn't save the changes anyway).

So am I over looking something obvious here??

Any help is much appreciated.
