What External hard Drive with CCC

To back up my Mac Mini Intel with OS X 10.4.11 using CCC, what external hard drive will be compatible with my 1 GB memory and my intel core duo and be inexpensive? Don't need it to be portable. Don't care about slick or stylish.

I don't know what to replace Mac Mini with. It is sure great to have a portable to take to meetings, but portables have poor ergonomics (hard on the body). Mainly need economic options suitable for depression era. Ha!

I would like to get a keyboard with the older version sculpted keys, not the totally minimal, flat keyboard. Those don't work well for touch typing and even slightly feminine fingernails. My most recent mac mouse cost $50 and started to break down in 6 months! Ditto the minimal keyboard.
