Q: PCI Dialog box

Saluations,

My mac has just crashed and on restarting - I was greeted by a configuration dialog box, asking if I wanted to change the set up of my PCI cards?

I clicked on a more 'equal' configuration of my four cards... and now on restarting - my twin monitors won't allow the second screen to switch positions with each other. In the 'displays' preference pane, moving the main display icon, doesn't match or respond on my set up?

My question is how do I get that dialog box back up?

Many thanks in advance,

TokyoSoup

Postscript: Is this crash something that I should worry about?

That's the Expansion Slot utility. It applied to early models of the Mac Pro. You can get to it here:

    /System/Library/Core Services/Expansion Slot Utility

    See also here:

Not sure why it appeared after your crash, though.

    Thank you Mr.Clifton,

You wander through life thinking you mastered your Mac... then something comes along and pushes you off your puffed up cushion. Thanks for the location of the 'hidden rebel base', sorry 'Expansion Slot utility'

I tried all four slot variations and only the last one configured my system - so it worked as before?

It crashed again, everything on the screen froze... and after a forced restart, the 'Expansion Slot utility' popped up once more.

    Many thanks again,
