Apple iPhone 3GS Smartphone 16 GB - Reset/SIM Card

A friend gave me an old iphone. Iphone 16GB.

All I want to do is to use this to store music on.

I have managed to destroy 3 other IPODS so I was hoping to get some use out of this.

The phone is locked and does not have a SIM card tray or SIM card with it.

Can I buy these and will it work in long run?

I dont care anything about using phone feature or anything except using it to store music.

Its has a IMEI number.

The ICCID says unknown.

Is there any hope or suggestions on getting this in working order?
