Is there a way to archive your iMovie projects so I can delete the raw footage and pictures from iPhoto??

once you make your movie, and share it to the media browser...I thought the movie was DONE. but then I went back and deleted all the pictures from iphoto and now the movie has blank scenes in it...Isnt there a way to keep the pictures in the movie and still delete the photos from the library??
