Macbook white won't charge, and problem with powering on.

Hi, I am helping a friend with his Macbook 13inch white model. A macbook3,1 model.

The battery won't charge and the Macbook itself won't usually power on, the only way to power it on is by pressing the power button and holding it down, then put in the magsafe, wait 5 seconds and release the power button and then press it once again. That way it starts up and works fine, only problem is that the fans are constantly running in highest mode.

Seems to be no way to reset the SMC on it, since when I shut it down, remove the battery and magsafe, hold down power button for 5 seconds, reattach battery and magsafe and press the power button once it won't power up, nothing happens.

I am clueless, anyone here who knows what can be done? Is it a faulty SMC on it?

Any answers on any solutions are appreciated.
