Quick Look Filter not working in OS 10.6.8

I really like the ability to preview files by simply pressing the spacebar. I was able to do this fine on a previous iMac using OS 10.6.8, but when I installed the QuarkXpress.qlgenerator file on the new iMac running OS 10.6.8 it does not work unless the .qxp extension is after the file name. I tried setting the preference to show file extensions in the Finder, but that did not show the .qxp extension on my Quark files. Anyone know why this is required on the new iMac I am using, but not the older iMac? Both are running the same OS.

Thanks for any input.
