Lexmark E360dn driver won't "stick"

I previously used the Lexmark E360dn laser printer with my Mac OS X Lion without any problems. However, after a recent upgrade something strange happened. The printer driver automatically resets to nothing. I've tried various remedies several times. I've deleted the printer and re-added it. I've reset the whole printing system. I've repaired the disk permissions. Nothing worked. Curiously, other printers work fine, including a different Lexmark printer (X736de). Does anyone have another idea?
