Ipod Nano 6 Gen Nike+ not showing under Fitness in Settings

Ipod Nano 6 Gen Nike not showing under Fitness in Settings like is stated in manual. This prevents me from setting up my new heart rate monitor. Can anyone help me get this menu option. I have pluged in the sports receiver and other features work and I have been able to track my runs and calabrate. Anyone had this issue before I have even tried a new receiver with no luck.

I did not know I did not have this menu feature until I tried to connect my new + hear monitor. I have also reset my ipod nano and done a restore. My software version for the nano is at 1.2.

please help

thanks

Thanks so much for replying B-Rock

The HRM is wearlink+ from polar rated to work with nano 5th gen and higher.

on page 39 chapter 7 of http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_nano_6thgen_User_Guide.pdf

it states

Set up the Nike + iPod Sport Kit on iPod nano:

1 Connect a Nike + iPod receiver to the dock connector on iPod nano.

2 On the Home screen, tap Settings.

3 Tap Fitness, and then tap Nike + iPod Sport Kit.

You see this option in Settings only when the receiver is connected to iPod nano.

4 Tap the accessory you want to set up (Sensor, Remote, or Heart Rate Monitor).

then I should be able to link up my HRM

I do not get the menu item Nike+ipod sports kit under fitness undersetup or anywhere else. I also do not see extras which I have read I always should have. not sure about that.

Thoughts on how to fix this?

thanks again

Yes that is exactly the HRM

I have reset both the nano via ITunes and also from pushing the - and on/off button.

I have then reconnected the nike+ sports kit (I even bought a new one that I have tried) and I still do not see this menu item under settings

I do have fitness but all it has is height weight etc...

I also have the fitness Nike+ menu app item on the main screen but it only has walk and run and history. Nothing there either for HRM

other thoughts?

thanks again for your help

It very well could be.

Any idea how I can get the firmware to update my nano?

I apologize ahead of time, but I'm not quite sure what you mean by this? I know you are already running the latest version of firmware for the 6G Nano, which is 1.2.

One thing you could also try to do is completely resore the iPod to factory settings in iTunes. This procedure wipes all content from the iPod and resets all settings back to their defaults. This would help rule out any sort of software glitch.

Restoring iPod to factory settings
