IBM FileNet P8 / Workplace XT -- anyone know of applications to connect to?

We have recintly rolled out the IBM FileNet P8 / Workplace XT file repository within our network.

One of the major issues we are having is some of our users have iPads as their primary devices - but we have not found a way for FileNet to communicate with these devices since Workplace XT is not compatable with the Safari browser.

Has anyone seen a 3rd party app / or seen a browser (as an app) that can be used so that if i were to connect the iPad to my internal network then i could connect to my IBM FileNet P8 / Workplace XT application and get to my work queues / inboxes etc. to work on the items that are in the queues for me.

Thanks everyone for your help ahead of time, its appriciated.

Best regards,

RB

"Workplace XT runs within a web container on a J2EE application server. Workplace XT uses XSL for rendering many of its user interface elements, such as query results and folder contents. Most of the features provided in Workplace XT are zero-download HTML that run under many browsers on any platform. Advanced capabilities that are graphic-intensive are provided as Java applets, including Process Designer, Process Configuration Console, Process Administrator, Scenario Designer, Scenario Console, and Search Designer."

iPad doesn't support Java. Not sure what "zero-download HTML" is and not in Wikipedia. Talk to IBM.

Do you get an error message?

WorkplaceXT is based on very shoddy, quick programming from ~2000-2004, and has had little to no functional update in base code since then. 😟

IBM just released Content Navigator, which has a companion iPad app which gives very minimal connectivity. The plan is that this will grow substantially - I expect to see major bumps in capability of both of these interfaces by Q2 in 2013.

So far I've installed ICN on a QA environment and have been somewhat impressed with current capability, but more-so the base layer seems like they could really expand it out in interesting ways.
