How to un-disable your ipod touch 4th generation...

So I left my Ipod Touch at my friends and she kept trying to figure out the password but failed.... it got to the point where it said "iPod is disabled connect to iTunes" and soon after died... my iPod was dead for at least 2weeks.. I just got it back today and plugged it in the computer to connect to itunes as directed... when we plugged it in it still says iPod disabled please connect to itunes? And also when I plugged it into the computer it says (on the computer) to please unlock the device on the iPod BUT I CAN'T!! Cause it is disabled... how do I solve this problem? I even tried restaring my ipod but still NOTHING!!! Please help!!!
