Q: Can I still use I pad for personal hotspot without 3G

IV just bought the new I pad without cellular 3G I've tried to connect my I phone 3GS to the I pad using personal hotspot but the phone will not recognise the I pad any help would be grateful

    If you've turned on the personal hotspot function on your iPhone then you need to look on the iPad to see if it recognises the iPhone as a wifi network i.e. you look on the device/computer that you want to use the phone's connection with.

    As best I understand it, the Personal Hotspot feature is a cellular feature. It exists solely for the purpose of using the iPad's cellular connection to create a WiFi hotspot. It doesn't work without a cellular connection.
