Experience in delivery times for retina MBP so far?

So I put in an order for a retina Macbook Pro on June 17 and as we all know the estimated time to ship is 3-4 weeks right now.

For those of you who also ordered online, have you received yours yet? Curious to see if the estimated time to ship is accurate or if they're just managing expectations.

Yes, I'm impatient!

I ordered mine from MacMall. Before I did I chatted with someone who said the wait time for a custom build was about 2-3 weeks. I placed my order on June 23rd for the following:

15.4" MacBook Pro (with Retina display) quad-core Intel Core i7 2.7GHz, 16GB RAM, 512GB flash storage, Intel HD Graphics 4000, Mac OS X Lion

The status hasn't changed, but I chatted with a customer service rep to see if they'd be able to give me an estimate. He said they're expecting it in their Memphis warehouse on July 12th. I did FedEx 2nd day so I'm hoping it'll arrive on that Saturday, which would be exactly 3 weeks... we'll see how it pans out.

i want it now lol

I'm pretty sure it has less to do with an ordering queue and more to do with supplies. My guess is it has to do with the RAM and/or the display. I've been seeing reports online that there are some retina displays with burn-in/ghosting issues. Apple may be trying to resolve it quietly, or it could just be a simple supply problem.

As for the ship date I was given from Macmall, I'm wondering if they ordered a bunch of configurations from Apple ahead of time. That seems like the logical thing to do with so few combinations of specs and high demand for the systems.

I agree with cue. I'm starting to notice it's th folks with upgrades especially on RAM who are experiencing longer wait times. My assumption is that it's a supply issue and could also be trying to fix the ghosting.

Either way Apple did provide a clear 3-4 week window and they're not late yet. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised but I guess that estimation might just be accurate!

The order status has JUST been updated to Preparing for shipment today (6th July early morning).

The delivery date is very much in range with Apple's estimate of 06/12/12 - 06/18/12.

I do not see any pattern between the date you place the order vs the date you actually received the goods. If it is really in the order of first in first serve basis, then for those who ordered before 06/16/12 16:00 should have their order set to preparing for shipment (especially those with BTO).
