Slow Internal Network Speed?

I have a local network setup and the configuration is (2) iMacs (latest generation with i7), and (1) MacBook Pro (latest generation with i7) connected to a MacMini server (latest generation). All are running Lion. With WiFi turned off on all computers and running hard wired, we are only getting an 11.9M transfer rate. This seems extremely slow. Is this normal or is there a way to speed this up? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Is that 11.9 MB ie bytes or 11.9 mb ie bits?

Are the Macs connected through a 100mb switch?

If the switch is 100mb and your transfer rate is 11.9 MB ie bytes, that would be about right. If you are on a 1Gb switch or the transfer rate is 11.9 mbs there is a problem.
