An iphone that has an international Warranty is not covered in India.....the problem is apple doesnt do anything to solve this problem...and if a person has a hardware problem his handset would not be replaced even if it holds an international warranty??

I am having an iphone 4s which was purchased outside india and holds an International warranty...

Recently on visiting to the service centre i learned that my handset cannot be replaced in india even if it has an international warranty....

i m stuck with the warranty thing ....

and i am helpless because apple does not support its coverage in india for IPHONES even if the handset has an iternational warranty...

What is apple doing to solve this problem?????

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

Goody for you. Now try explaining that to the seemingly endless stream of people in India who come here on a daily basis whining because they can't have an iPhone serviced there that the bought outside the country.

There is no guarantee at all that you will be able to get your phone serviced outside the country of origin. If you do, great, but expecting it, which is what it seems people do, is not a realistic outlook.

I think I just did explain. And in great detail too.

That there is "no guarantee" is a whole lot different from "[y]our phone can ONLY be serviced in the country where it was originally sold," which is what you keep trying to assert (and which is blatantly not true). Apple India did not mis-speak when they told OP he could get it replaced out of India. They were just very unclear on the specifics. So when you tell rohitdaga123 "[y]ou are not educating us, you are refusing to listen to the voice of experience" in that condescending tone of yours, it just makes me mad.

GUYS

THIS IS MY PERSONEL EXPERIENCE

I BOUGHT AN IPHONE FROM AUSTRALIA UNLOCKED AND WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY

WHILE I WAS IN THE IN US THE SLEEP BUTTON STOPPED WORKING

WENT TO APPLE STORE THEY REPLACED IT

A YEAR LATER THE RINGER STOPPED WORKING

BY THE WAY I LIVE IN INDIA

WENT TO APPLE STORE IN INDIA THEY REFUSED TO SERVICE IT AS WARRANTY IS COVERED IS WHAT THEY SAID

I TALKED TO CUSTOMER CARE ETC

THEY SAID: THE IPHONE CAN BE SERVICED OR REPLACE IN ANY COUNTRY IRRESPECTIVE OF THE COUNTRY OF ORGIN OR PURCHASE SO FAR THEIR IS AN APPLE STORE (COMPANY OWNED) NOT RESELLER PERIOD

I THEN SEND MY PHONE TO HONG KONG THROUGH MY FRIEND AND THEY HONOURED THEIR WARRANTY

THIS IS A FACT

SO THE BOTTOM LINE IS

"AN IPHONE CAN BE REPLACED OR SERVICED IN ANNNNNNYYYYY COUNTRY IRRESPECTIVE OF PLACE OF PURCHASE SO FAR IT HAS AN APPLE STORE AND NOT A RESELLER"

THE FUN THING IS THAT ALL OTHER PRODUCTS IPAD IPOD COMPUTER ETC CAN BE SERVICED/REPLACED EVEN BY A RESELLER IRRESPECTIVE WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED THEN WHY NOT A IPHONE

IF the experience you related is true, then you are the exception, not the rule. Thousands have posted here over the years, including several hundred from India, with experiences that directly contradict yours.

You have had an account here for barely more than 2 weeks. You're either too rude and disrespectful or too ignorant to be able to speak in a reasonable tone.

You're a troll

Go away.

Ok so let me get this straight this page STARTED with a question on whether an iphone has international warranty or not. The answer turned out to be NO. Then why the **** r ppl trying to change company policies n crap.U ppl really think that demanding an amendment in exchange policy will show any results. I would rather suggest that if u want an iphone then stop being cheap n spend a 6k to 8k extra n buy it from the place that u live in(India). In quarterly sales grid India has the lowest revenue generation from apple products as compared to US,UK or HongKong , thus lot of warranty rules dont hold up here, as there is not profit to gain.On top of that there is huge tax levied on such processes. Its business 101. So plz stop arguing about this n accept the fact that in India , as of now the warranty doesn't apply fr iphone, ipad or ipad mini or iMAC or macbook pro. When you take international warranty there's a list that the apple retailer has which contains all the countries where the warranty is valid, its a limited set of countries. u can ask fr it the next time u go to a retailer that offers international warranty.
