Can I dial my iphone from my windows PC?

I am currently using a PC and would like to to have a way to cut-paste a phone number into a field which will then dial that number using my iPhone. I have phone numbers in Outlook, our CRM program and of course on webpages that I woulld like to call...ideas?

I've never seen or heard of an application that could do that. I'm guessing it's not possible because Apple restricts what developers have access to, the phone functions being one of them. Good luck though. 😉

The phone will recognize and dial number from web pages. You could aslo sync you Outlook contacts and have access to them from the phone.

Thanks Paul, I have been looking for a little while and knew about the website phone number recognition when I am using the iPhone by itself...and I do have my Outlook phone book in my iPhone too (very cool). Just looking for a cut-paste thing to speed the process up when I am at my laptop on the road, which is a lot. Found a couple but thouight someone else might have tried them already...

Another good one is myphonedesktop.

I use it with a bluetooth headset in the office to make handsfree calls.

Syncs with your Outlook contacts.

Happyfingers is good too.

Dani,

You are definitely missing something here! Pre iPhone, I could do this from Outlook using my blackberry. Open a contact, click, and the # dialed. I'm going to try some of these suggestions - it's a huge timesaver...Can't believe there's an app for this. Ooutlook/Blackberry stopped working somewhere along the way when I installed an upgrade, and they would never formally support the capability.

I have tried;

  • Happy Fingers, but it does not dial from within Outlook
  • I have tried myHandsFreeDesktop and again will do a good job syncing contacts so you can dial within their not software, but not Ms Outlook. The desired task is to trigger the software features in Outlook when a specific contact is selected. This works so well on a landline, but not a cell.
  • I have also tried Bluetooth PcDialer - program looks great seems like it will do exactly what we want, but no one can seem to get the program to work! And now we get no replies from their support!!!!!

Why is so simple of a very basic feature not available? Despite the obvious technical challenges, it should not be that difficult and I have not found anyone who uses Outlook that would not use this App if it was available.

Look at the trend, we are all migrating to cells, particularly in business.
