Q: I have a new I-Pod Touch (IOS5) and I subscribe to I-Tunes match. Why am I unable to access the Cloud and see all my Music listed like I can see all my Contacts.

I would like to be able to edit all my I-Tunes music which is stored in the Cloud but when I access the Cloud only my Contacts are showing but not my Music.I subscribe to I-Match and I access the Cloud with an I-Pod Touch.

If you head to Settings -> Music on your iPod Touch, is iTunes Match turned On?

Where are you trying to access your Music at then?  You don't manage via http://icloud.com, but via iTunes on your iPod Touch or your iTunes library on your PC or Mac.

My PC is Windows 7 and I have downloaded the Cloud Control Panel so I can access Cloud through http://icloud.com  and when the window opens the various Icons are displayed such as Mail, Documents & Contacts (which I can open and edit) but there is no Icon for Music. Are you indicating that it is not possible for me to access my Cloud Music other than through the I-Pod Touch? Should I manage to access the Cloud account by this route will the Music be displayed in virtually the same format as the tunes are displayed in the ITunes library?

Yes as well as your iTunes on your PC if you need or desire.

I have just clicked on I-Tunes with the Touch and initially it directs me to the Store for purchases. If I then click on More I am only then offered the following options. Genius - Ping - Tones - Podcasts- Audiobooks - I-Tunes U - Downloads.

I am not sure therefore how I could access my Cloud to edit the Music which I wanted to do at this point as I have my music matched on 3 computers in all.  I was hoping if I edited the Music in Cloud if all the computers were matched this in effect would be matching all the Librarys as the computers would be syncd to the Cloud Music items.

You may want to see this article and all of its related/additionally linked articles for more information on iTunes Match.

Thanks for your help but I appear to have done everything as per the guidelines but so far I have not succeeded. The instructions do indicate that it should be quite possible to operate the Cloud account with a Windows 7 PC using the downloaded Control panel but this is not working with regard to Music.  At some point I do recall receiving an indication that I had successfully transferred over 6000 songs to the Cloud. On my various Computers in the I-Tunes Library it indicates that I have over 10000 songs but many have been duplicated since I clicked on the Matching. It looks as if I will have to keep trying other routes.

Where did you see something about using the iCloud control panel to view and manage your content?

On the apple web page which describes how to access the Cloud it provides options for such devices  as I-Pad, MacBook and also a Windows PC.  Using a Windows PC which has to be Windows 7, one has to download  the Control Bar programme and a Cloud  Icon appears in the Control panel page of the PC.  As I mentioned the Cloud page can be opened by going to www. i-cloud and it shows for instance an Icon for Contacts (which one can open and edit using the PC keyboard) and other Icons such as Documents. I would have hoped however that there may have been an ICON for Music but there is no such Icon displayed.  From your other notes it does indicate that I should be editing my Cloud music through the  i-Tunes Library. What I don’t  understand is why when I have run the Match programme it indicates that  I have 10000 songs on the I-Tunes Library on my PC whereas I have seen an advice that I have 6000 songs in my Cloud account. If I could open up and see the actual  listing of songs in my Cloud account which I believe top be the correct number, I could then arrange to delete what appear to be numerous duplications from my  PC I-Tunes library so that everything would be syncd  and would correspond.
