Need to understand how to change the setting on the iphone to imap so it can sync with webmail on cpanel
IMAP and webmail are two completely different things. If your mail provider does not offer IMAP, they you can to set it up as an IMAP account.
Ask your mail provider what protocols they support and how to set it up.
Ok, so my domain mail provider does support imap. I use the webmail interface when on my PC and I want it to sync with the iphone with my domain email account. Do I just change the setting on the phone from POP# to IMAP?
Delete the account on the phone and set it up as IMAP instead. IMAP is the default. It will not give you an option to set it up as POP unless it can not locate the IMAP server. If it offers to set it up as POP3, get the correct settings to set it up as IMAP from your mail provider.
