Stop playing music or a movie!
New To Apple TV
How do you stop playing music or a movie other than hitting "PAUSE"
Is there a way to shut down A TV other than pulling the plug?
Thanks

You can back out to the menu and you can put the device into standby.
Thanks vazandrew
That worked very well.
Another quick question :
Do you leave the Apple TV on all the time in Standby or Sleep?
Or do you shut down completely at night?

No problem. When i'm not using the device it's in standby. Some people leave it on all the time as it uses very little power.
leave it on if you connect to Itunes on a PC or Mac. The reason is because if you put it to sleep for a period of time you will lose connection to itunes. There is a recent bug in itunes and homesharring that losses connection with all devices.
I can't say that i've ever experienced this. Usually connection issues come down to the network.
look on the APtv/airplay community and just find the conversation with alot of replys and you will see what i am talking about
I've seen threads like that but it's a small userbase and doesn't change the facts. If it was a bug a lot more people would have the issue at any rate.
if you call multiple threads with say an overall 100K views with hundreds of comments a small userbase then I'll buy that for a dollar! all this since the last 2 updates to itunes???
But I guess it is always the same thing it's not apple it is the user or they are dumb and have no idea how to set up a network???? Even though most apple users just plug in the router, set a password and let sleeping dogs sleep!
Yes as their are millions of ATV users and real world situations where the cause is pinpointed to the network. I am not going to start a debate as this is straying away from the OPs question
