I switched over to icloud. So far the ical has not synced, so the events we have on the ical on the computer have not appeared on the icloud calendar. Does the icloud calendar function sync with the ical function on the computer?
iCloud syncs calendars in iCal exactly the same as MobileMe did. The only thing that is different is the server address.
Are the calendars in iCal listed under your iCloud account name or ON MY MAC?
What Mac OS are you running? ( always mention such details when asking for help).
iCloud does not sync to iCal, instead it adds a new calendar in the iCloud account to iCal, if installed correctly you should have 2 calendars in iCal, one labeled 'On My Mac', and one labeled 'iCloud'
Use the iCloud calendar rather than the On My Mac one, if you don't have an iCloud calendar then iCloud has not been installed correctly, or not at all!
You are using 10.7.xx (Lion)? I ask because you didn't say.
I am running Snow Leopard ver. 10.6.8. That may be the problem.

That is the problem, I'm afraid. Officially speaking, Snow Leopard is not compliant with iCloud, though you canset mail up manually to receive your iCloud email.
You may be able to sync your calendars to iCloud by means of an unsupported hack, and there is a convoluted hack which has been reported as working for Address Book (and as not working by others - I've not tried it), but iCloud's other facilities will not work. This page outlines the situation when you migrate to iCloud, including a link to the calendar hack:

There are a couple of third-party solutions which may be of interest.

It would be cheaper to just upgrade to Lion. However with the release of Mountain Lion just weeks away, I'll wait for that. Thanks for the help.

I have made the merge to icloud but in ical my list of calendars still shows mobile me. In the account info of ical it has the icloud grey icon but the description is still mobileme. On my system preferences under icloud I am signed in to my apple account and calendars are enabled. I am on Mac OSX 10.7.5
Does icloud sync with ical like mobileme did?
