Re latest update screen has lost colour

That is a feature, not a bug, I am sorry to say. See the Release Notes on Aperture 3.3; one of the new features are "Newly designed monochrome source list and toolbar icons."

Again with this stupid design change. I don't see how this makes my work flow any easier or quicker. I remember when they did this with iTunes a while back, stupid desicision then and still is now. Unfortunately if it is like iTunes, this change is here to stay so we better learn to live with it. We can give feedback to Apple but I doubte they will listen, again just like with iTunes.

I do not like it either.

I opened the Aperture Library package and tinted the icons by opening them in Photoshop and adding a layer of color:

Now I can tell again the difference between a folder, an album, or a project.

You are correct: Apple can't listen to what they don't hear. The only approved conduit for communicating your experience and thoughts about Aperture is via "Aperture➞Provide Aperture Feedback".
