Brand new Macbook Air spontaneous crashes

Mine crashes everyday in similar ways. Sometimes like you said, sometimes with an Error message. It has been crashing ever since I bought it 5 days ago. It started with Safari locking up on a brand new system with nothing else installed. We have lemons. Get your money back.

Are any of you guys who are having system crashes on your new 2012 macbook airs using Chrome broswer. There are alot of posts already advising of this problem and we are all hoping an update with come asap. Just wanted to see if your macbook airs fell into that bucket as well.

Yes. I started using chrome because Safari kept crashing.

Well safari kept locking up. Not crashing the whole machine. It would just be unresponsive for 10 minutes.

I received my 2012 Macbok Air last Monday and since then it has crashed 4 times: 3 times with the black box and one just frozen. I'm not experienced enough to read crash logs and actually troublehsoot the issue but the only common thread for me is that Chrome was running each time. Starting yesterday I switched back to Safari and no problems so far (although my experience is hardly conclusive).

yes i had the same problem with my macbook air. I just talked to the tech support and they told me to download the free update version of mavericks 9.0.2 He was confident that this would resolve the issue because so many people were having the problem.
