Had this problem with both of my daugher's phones. They did not have any credit card info on their account because we always use the iTunes cards. I added the credit card info and the stupid security questions went away.

So all you have to do is add the card. If you don't have a card then go open a bank account and get a debit card. It's that easy.

Enough of the complaining now. You know how to fix it.

BTW it only took me 10 minutes to figure this out.

your solution defeats the purpose of using iTunes cards in the first place. It took me less than a minute to realize you've given your daughters the key to your credit card or debit account.

the whole security question process appears to be broken. I also called into account security and was told that an email would be sent. 8+hrs laters, i'm still waiting on it. I asked the tech how would i be able to reset the questions and was told that i would have to answer correctly one of the security questions to get to the section to even reset the questions. If i had known the correct answer, then i wouldn't need to reset the question.

Apparently the security questions were enforced a few months back. I never setup the answers when this step was implemented, therefore, i do not know the answers to those questions.

The complaints should be shared so that Apple can resolve.

This is ridiculous!!! I just bought a really EXPENSIVE iPad Mini. I have had an Apple id for YEARS!!! I can't download anything onto it!!! Apple need to fix this mess RIGHT AWAY.

  • GreenshieldsFamily Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

And people are replying saying "Just put your credit card onto it!" Well, that is unacceptable. We have made an account, we have put money on there. We pay for expensive products we don't REALLY need. And now they want us to give them our credit card details! I know that Apple is a global business, trusted, but we don't actually know what they are doing with our details, even if they have a policy or have signed something. Apple needs to sort this out. And to top it off, I don't think I ever even put in security ?'s!!!

First is you want to reset them you will need to remember them. Enter your apple Id choose password and security on the left of the screen and type the old one in the box then click on the change security questions button type in your new questions then hit save. Hope this helps

What if i cant remember the old ones?

  • Ericcdb Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

You will need to go into a apple store or call apple then they should short it out

Ughh apple is such a pain when it comes to this all i wanna do is pay for some music and i have these crappy security questions pop up and i forgot ....

  • NeillMcAttack Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

Im having the same problem, i definately never gave an answer to the questions i was asked, i had never even seen those questions. Having to give credit card details is not a 'fix'. Apple, sort it out. its gone beyond a joke.

you can buy stuff without the security questions unless you have a new apple product then for security reason you have to put them in too aswell as your password -.- :/

Yea, just call them. They are very polite and friendly. They'll send a code to your devices, and they'll also ask you to generate a temporary support pin, and they'll reset it for you. It took about 10 min. So glad it worked. Also, put in a rescue email, and open Keychain Access, and add a secure note (or put it in Notes)

There is no 'forgot your answers?' button ?
