Help with codec-m, I can't even highlight it to move it anywhere.

I'm really sorry if this has been answered. I am brand new to Macs and have an icon in my favorites area for Codec-m with an application folder next to it, but I can't click on it and have no idea where it came from or how to remove it. Could it be from file sharing from my old Dell?
