Is there a way to bypass Siri when using a bluetooth headset

Is there a way to bypass Siri when using a bluetooth headset to make a call? I press the call button on my headset (Plantronics M50), but I still must touch the Siri mike icon on the iPhone 4S to verbally make the call.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

Same problem. iPhone 4S (iOS 6.1.3) & Plantronics M50. Per the M50 guide, I can invoke Siri by holding its button down for 2 seconds, but after I speak my command, Siri just waits. She doesn't detect that I have stopped talking. No button presses on the M50 seem to signal her that it's time to go. Only a touch of the microphone icon on the iPhone does the trick. Kind of defeats the purpose of a "hands-free" device. Too bad, as I like everything else about the M50.
