My 24” iMac seems to gets the spinning colored ball a lot, seems it is running slow a lot more than it did before any suggestion?
IMAC, Mac OS X (10.5)
There are a lot of things to do in order to fix the issue, as many things can cause the result. I would say, take the time to visit an Apple store, geniuses in the store can clear your Mac in minutes easily and make it runs faster almost instantly.
PS. Unless it is hardware, then should be fine.
Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?

That's not too bad, but what about CPU% & Console messages when it's slow?
