will not repair permissions

MBP (1.83/7200) runs the repair permissions but doesn't actually repair them, get the same list every time even if reboot right after the repair, partial list follows (whole list is nine pages)

That happens. Get used to it until there is an update which address it. Then you will find new permissions that are re corrected. It does not mean it is not working.

The permissions don't need repair--it's just a message saying (unnecessarily) what they should be. The log will say explicitly if a file's permissions were repaired.

This list has grown over time with OSX updates. I hope it gets shorter soon.
