I think you mean Login Items in Users & Groups preferences. Unless you have installed third-party software that in turn has installed startup items, there won't be any. See the following about uninstalling software:

Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead. Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.

Or instead of getting incredibly complicated you can do the simple thing and uncheck/delete them from your System Preferences?
Open up System Preferences, go into Users & Groups, click on Login Items and uncheck/delete anything you don't want to start up when you boot-up your computer!

Start up Items have several points of origin and tracking them down to "stop" an appplication on loading when you first fire up in the morning can be frustrating. My daily irratation right now is an apple ap called image capture. I have deleted it out of system preferences user, and an ap called Mac Keeper, but it still keeps opening. So now where are the alternate locations that start up this app when I reboot. 'there is also a File preference start on log in that is also unchecked.
Any ideas where else I need to work. Also is there a utility that shows all these linked locations. Power Mac on Mountain Lion.
