Jan 26, 2013 1:42 PM in response to jneilby Writer4hire,Was having no luck at all with android file transfer software. Kept coming up 'you do not have any device attached' (which wasn't correct, it just couldn't 'see it').
However, have managed to crack it. Here's what I did.
1. Download android file transfer
2. Connect phone to Mac via USB
3. Click on device as shown on your desktop (NOT the Android application - I kept getting 'you have no device attached')
4. You will see all the files on your Android
5. Go to DCIM folder
6. Go to Camera folder
7. Voila!
8. Download photos from camera to iphoto at will.
NOTE: If you're creating new albums to organize your photos off the main iphoto portal, DON'T delete them. They will disappear off the main portal as well as your albums.
Happy as a clam save for one quandry I still have. Android won't sync photos with my nicely organized iphoto.
Can anyone help with that?

Jun 2, 2013 8:47 AM in response to jneilby jeanwendy,When you connect your Samsung via USB to your iMac, you'll see a USB symbol in the Notification bar. Swipe down to expose the Ongoing section in the Notification bar, and then click on the "Touch for other USB options". This brings up a choice to select MTP or PTP mode. I believe the default mode is MTP. If MTP is selected, then enable PTP mode. On my MacBookPro, iPhoto is configured to automatically start when a device is connected.
MTP and PTP don't play well with Mountain Lion, so as an alternative you could use Kies via USB and from the Photos select the pictures you want to import into iPhoto, then choose the "Save to PC" option, and save to your Pictures or wherever you are keeping your photos on the iMac. Then you can transfer photo from android phone to iMac.
