Q: Does apple have any way of telling that the device has been jailbroken?

Does apple have any way of telling that the device has been jailbroken? My friend Jailbroke mine several times, I restored it to factory settings. Am still under waranty or has it been void?

iPod touch, iOS 5.1.1

    I have heard yes but I have not really found anything to verify that.

    Are you having problems, or are you just paranoid?

     

     

    FWIW, just for grins and giggles, I JB'd a 2nd gen and restored it back to factory settings.  The main reasons were I got the thing fro free, the silly thing would not play music or videos, It had a bad digitizer and a dead battery.  I spent a few bucks on parts and got it up and running. I wanted to see if the problem was with iOS so I JB'd it.  I wasn't impressed with the JB.  It was a pain to do, you had to save files, whistle "Dixie" and sacrifice lab rats, and it still wouldn't play music or videos, so i restored it.

     

    Later on I got a 32 gig 4th gen, and the 2nd gen sat, and sat, and sat.  Then on a whim I took it out, plugged it in, charged the battery, and the darned thing worked, even played music and videos....
