Indesign Magazine to Apple apps

I would like to submit a simple magazine for (ipad and I phone) I made in Indesign CS5.5 to the Apple apps for approval. Could I just export it as a PDF and submit it that way or how would I get around to do this? Am I forced to do it through adobe and their multi-folio/single-folio applications?
