Q: I get no Sim Card installed message when trying to use my phone

My phone just stopped working - I get a "No Sim Card Installed" Message. I have not changed any settings.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

So you have not changed anything or updated
try reseating the sim (assume it is a microsim not a hand cut )
and go through Apple troubleshooting
Restart ,reset ,restore
May be the sim has gone "bad"
