My brother dropped my iPad and smashed the screen

Ok my problem is a lot larger right so ill tell the whole story...

so one day (Saturday) right while i was still asleep my brother had taken my iPad and to play a joke on me he went to hide it in the top of his cupboard while he was climbing to the top he had dropped the iPad from the distance of about 2 meters up and obviously the screen had smashed and also the corner of the iPad had been dented inwards so when he grabbed the iPad he went and hid it under our couch then when i woke up and couldn't find it i asked him were he put it and he told me to take my mum iPhone and do what i wanted so what i done was opened up find my iPhone send a message to my iPad to find it when i looked at it it was smashed so i called up apple but the didn't answer because it was Saturday so i went to my computer and saw that a man had dropped his iPad and apple had fixed it for him no charge so on Monday afternoon i called them up and told them this story they go to me sorry if you would like to fix your iPad you must pay $300 so i couldn't do anything except change the screen myself but what happened was that i done it and stuffed my iPad event more than before and i had a pin on it so when i replaced the screen i tried to get the screen working so i slid to unlock and that worked but when i went to put my pin in it didn't work so i tried pressing everything that helped a little by showing me that it was only the backspace, 0 and cancel button that worked so i kept putting 0000 until finally it said connect to iTunes when i did it said to me that it had a pin and to unlock the iPad in order to connect but i couldn't and i would of put it in DFU mode but the power button isn't working and my home button is ruined any suggestions or should i just throw the iPad away sorry i didn't add any full stops or capitals i just wasn't bothered to do extra...
