Photos for MacIn Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"
delay 1
tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Nov 3, 2014 8:27 AM in response to Old Toadby Dunc_F,I was able to get the copy of my files from Time Machine and drag it to my new computer and open it with your script.
I was able to update the web site and publish it OK.
But when I try to save my new work it tells me that I can not save it.
The only way I can open the file again is to use the script but of course, it does not contain my updated web info.
How can I get my new info saves?
How can I get iWeb to recognize that it should automatically open my web site
I am running OS X 10.10 and iWeb 3.04
Thanks for your help so far!

Nov 3, 2014 9:27 AM in response to Dunc_Fby Old Toad,Where on you hard drive did you put the domain file?
Also try deleting the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, from the Home/Library/Preferences folder and the contents of the com.apple.iWeb folder located in your Home/Library/Caches folder. Then run the script again to open the domain file. Then close and launch iWeb to see if it remembers where the domain file is.

Nov 3, 2014 11:52 AM in response to Old Toadby Dunc_F,I have no idea where it might be stored OT
It would be wherever the default would be.
I have found the Domain.sites2 file in my old setup under
Library, application support , iWeb
it is a 77MB file. That is the one I edited last night and was unable to save changes to that file.
There is also a Domain (original).sites2 file in the same directory.
I'll let you look at this before I start deleting files. :-)

Nov 3, 2014 12:03 PM in response to Dunc_Fby Old Toad,Download and run Find Any File to search for a file with "Domain.sites2" in the file name. You'll get a search results window like this:
FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages. If there's a library hiding somewhere on your hard drive FAF will find it.
If you have more than one Domain file open each with the script to see which one is the one you want to keep and use.

Nov 3, 2014 3:19 PM in response to Old Toadby Dunc_F,Well, I did that. It asked me which domain I wanted to open. I picked the right one and it opened. I closed iWeb and reopened it. My web page was there all right and I tried to save it.
I got an error message saying:
"The document “Domain.sites2” could not be saved. "
Any other suggestions??

Nov 3, 2014 3:54 PM in response to Dunc_Fby Old Toad,Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair disk permissions. Reboot normally and test saving again.
If that fails copy the domain file to a folder in your Documents folder and try opening it there and saving. It could be a location thing.
