My iPad is a 3rd generation GSM model. But the diagnostic data sent by my iPad to the apple server(it's a built in feature) states that my hardware model
Is iPad 3,3. So far I know for CDMA model they use 3,3 but for GSM it should be 3,2.
Am I wrong?

i went though a detailed search
ipad 3,1 is wifi
ipad 3,2 is gsm
ipad 3,3 is cdma

Yesterday I updated to iOS 5.1.1 from 5.1 using *.ipsw for CDMA model(using the SHIFT+Update method).
Although they told me when selling that my model is a GSM one,but actually it's a CDMA model which I didn't know until I saw the hardware model iPad 3,3 in the diagnostic data sent by my device to apple server.Because my GSM SIM still works...It was hard for me to believe that it's a CDMA device. So I came to the conclusion that CDMA model also supports GSM SIM.

The CDMA version of the new iPad supports 4G LTE and GSM.
Yes it supports 4G LTE but only in the 700 frequency not the 2100.
Ipad3,3 or a1430 is the gsm version while ipad3,2 or a1403 is the cdma version.
What does hardware model iPad 3,3 mean?
