yellow triangle in event library

I have noticed a yellow triangle bearing a black colored exclamation mark adorning two of my events in the event library. Can any one tell me what it means and what it is cautioning me against and what be the corrective steps that I ned to take to ensure that I do not suffer harm???

That was good movie, and honest. The cuts are great. I understand that you want FCPX to work well you seems to be ambitious editor. No your problems are not due to keeping you event or project on the system drive. But this is the recommended when working with video. System disk is very busy and it can cause an overload if project is placed there. Under file you can try to use "relink event files"

Best wishes

Hello Innocentius,

Thanks for your encouraging words. Are you also into videomaking? I am filled with awe when I think of this big earth we live in but know very little of. Wonder how one lives life with just snow and ice all round!

I sing, have brought out 5 audio albums and have more to bring out. I, filled with a burning desire to add visual content to my audio albums, am trying to know the basics of videography. All of this is new territory to me as I am by profession a medical doctor.

I am very thankful and truly grateful to you and all the other senior participants in these forums who are helping me out at this crucial stage of my 'videography career'.

By your suggestion:

'Under file you can try to use "relink event files', I understand that I ought to do this...make the event browser active by clicking upon it, click on the file, and click on the 'relink event files' option. I shall try it out straightaway and get back to you.

Till then have a great day.

Hello again Innocentius. Am unable to see the 'relink event files' you have mentioned. Have got an option to 'organize events' ...sending the screen shot [1] of the same.User uploaded file

Next when I opted for that [organize events] I got this pop up...screen shot [2] below.

Since I did not know whether it is the right thing to do, a command which one cannot undo, I refrained myself from pressing continue and have come back to you [so easy to come to you staying all the way up in Iceland] for further directions!

😕 What should I do now?

I am right now on the verge of updating to 10.0.5 and trying to know how to go about this job. My app store seems to be giving me only one option to upgrade to: only to 10.0.5 and not to 10.0.3 or 10.0.4.

Have read in some posts that the events/projects were lost during the process of updating. Hence I have been reticent to go about the job without taking adequate precautions towards safeguarding data.

Hey, the yellow triangle has disappeared! This is funny and strange. Perhaps FCPX somehow managed to 'relink' the files thinking I had a need for the same!

While on this thread yet, I need to inform all of you that I was reading another thread about a yellow exclamation mark posted by stephendublin and entitled 'Yellow exclamation point in a triangle'...https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4013164?tstart=0

Though Stephen mentioned of a triangle appearing in the event library, the screenshot he subsequently posted showed the triangle to be located in the project library. However, I have observed that he had right clicked upon the triangle and was able to link up his files!

I opened up my FCPX in oreder to do this: right click upon those yellow triangles and see whether I could do what Stephen had done. But lo, to my astonishment, they were'nt there! See this screenshot: User uploaded file

I write this so that anyone else, if confronted by a yellow triangle, may simply right click on it and proceed to relink the files.

Hi there,

The 'disappeared triangle' re-appeared. I tried to right click upon the triangle but it was non-responsive. I then repeated the 'organize events' procedure I have described above [ended with pressing 'cancel' and not the 'continue' button. This time the yellow triangle did not go away immediately but after a while it did.

Now how do I relink this event. Guess I should take courage and press the 'continue' button next time this triangle appears and hope for the best!

If someone who has trod this path earlier can help out, I will be grateful.
