lost voice memos data 0 seconds

Hi. I am sorry but the voice memo you have recorded earlier and is showing "0 sec" is not playable. it happened to me before and i lost a very important 7 hour recording. Here's the deal... when you want to stop recording your voice memo make sure that you are PATIENT first of all. hit stop button ONCE and then wait. the recording will take a bit of time to be saved and then the voice memo screen will 'flip' to reveal all the playlist of your voice memo recordings. (NOTE: dont hit the stop button more then once in 5 minutes because the god **** delete button is right where the stop button is but on the other side.so god forbid if the screen flips you would have lost your voice memo before you can shreik).

Ok.. when the screen flips initially you will see a 0 sec recording and then in a few minutes maybe you'll see a circle appear next to the recorded voice memo (you know .. the circle that means something is loading.. when the bars go round and round) and then it will take anywhere from 5-10 minutes for the iphone to 'think' and save the memo. Hopefully, then your iphone will show that you have your recording saved.

Can you trim the memo and does it show a more normal length of time afterwards? Try tapping the arrow next to the time, then tap Trim Memo.

You can also try syncing the voice memo to the computer and then playing it from there.

If you can't fix the memo by trimming it or iTunes synces a corrupted memo, you could try using something like PhoneView to transfer memos on the iPhone.

My wife recently had the same problem. A 10 hour interview yielded a 0 sec file. We reconstructed what happened, and she remembered plugging in the phone after about 2 hours because the battery was running low. When we tried that at home, sure enough the phone started to sync via Wifi, and when it stopped, the memo file was irreparably damaged and showed 0 sec. This seems to be a known bug, it does not occur on iOS 7 (she is still running iOS 6).

We managed to copy the damaged file via PhoneGap, and its size was 60 MB, which is consistent with about 2 hours of voice memo recording. Sadly it was not possible to play it back, we tried several audio apps.

You have too many voice recordings on your phone. Try deleting some of your old recordings and trying again. Cheers.
