Let's us say that I want o play music at home on my sterio, and I wat to control the music using my iPhone, so there is application, there is programs in both stereo and iPhone to do the job, so who I'm gonna talk to do this idea for real.. I know that's this idea already exist, it's just an example to explain u what I'm after though.. Hope u can help me to get the right track..

Okay 🙂

So here's the thing you can do!

You can wirelessly stream music to your stereo by using an Airport Express. You can connect it to the stereo and stream music wirelessly from your Mac, iPhone, iPad by using AirPlay. It's as simple as that and very easy to setup! You can directly play music from your iPhone. Or you can use Remote app on your iPhone to control the music on your computer through which all the music is played through iTunes and streamed wirelessly using Airplay 🙂

That's an excellent question, but as per my knowledge and my thinking, you'd need to enroll for both I guess.

Because, MFI and iOS app are inter-dependent on each other! The iOS app needs to be debugged, tested and deployed well that it needs to be scrutinized and should work well with the hardware it's controlling. The hardware should accept the commands sent by the iOS app via the iOS device, so the functionality should be pretty smooth and bug free! 🙂

What do you think!?

I want to develop an iOS app that communicates with an MFi accessory. Do I need to join the MFi Program?

No. iOS app developers do not need to join the MFi program. Everything app developers need is in the External Accessory Framework, which is provided in the iOS SDK. To access the iOS SDK, please join the iOS Developer Program.

Do u recon that answer my question? I found it at this link

Is this related to my situation? "the remote control thing..."

Yes, you're right! I was out of knowledge bout this thing, thanks for sharing this!

I'm pretty confused now though :|

If you'd be developing the hardware "Ship", you must be enrolling for MFi, or if you want to jus develop an app to control it (Let us assume that you have the "Ship" model ready) then you need to enroll to iOS developer though!
That's what I'd think now!

Most likely! Because, you'll need to develop the hardware, and also the app, you can hire a team of developers to make this happen that would be much better! And again, doing this alone would be tideous! Hire a team of developers expertize in both MFi and iOS! You control them and it will do wonders! Maybe a business idea that will flourish so much! Wow! Jus given a thought! 🙂

You need to recruit your own team bro! You can do it by freelancing or by establishing your own company, developing some cool "Ships" and "Cars" and "Automated Toys" and maybe something "NEW" after whole lot of R&D. That would be grateful if you would come up with something unique with the unique power of electronics and the tremendous power of iOS!

Can take new dimensions! 🙂
