How to fax from iMac?

Hi,


I have the small white fax modem from the apple store which plugs into USB and my telephone line. I have used it on many occassion without a problem but now it keeps saying "Waiting for modem to become available..."


Can anyone suggest what I should do please?

Have you tried unplugging it completely and then reattaching it to your Mac? Do a


PRAM RESET

Zap the PRAM


  • Shut down the computer.
  • Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
  • Turn on the computer.
  • Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
  • Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
  • Release the keys.


As this may clear a bad signal from the device.
