Should I get MacBook Pro or Air?

Hi,

I am deciding to get either then13inch MacBook Air for 1199 or the 13inch MacBook Pro for 1199. Easily by basis of hard drive, the pro wins, but I really like the beautiful design on the Air. I will be mainly using it for, school- writing papers, email, surfing the Internet. I really want to get the pro because I know it's fast,for all these things, but the air's design takes me away.

Also the air doesn't have a DVD drive like the pro, and I might need this.

Do you think I should get the MacBook air or pro?

A safe bet would be the Pro. Like you mentioned, it has more memory and the DVD drive. The way technology is moving these days though, a majority of programs can be bought and downloaded online so it isn't neccessarily a killall if you go with the Air. Also, depending on how much music, movies, games, etc. you plan on putting on your computer, the Pro would be a better choice. 128 gb can go quick if you have a large iTunes library and like taking photos and using iPhoto.

The MBA was the winner for me. The speed of the new MBA is faster than last year's model and the specs, including screen resolution, are better as well. You can always get an external DVD/CD drive if you really need one and you can also get an external HDD for icreased storage. I got the 13" MBA and I am delighted with it's features and performance.
