XAMPP's Apache can not start while Web Sharing is on! Please go to System Preferences > Sharing and turn it off.
I have no idea and it would be a big help for the answering of this question.
I downloaded OS X Lion Server to work alongside XAMPP but of course they both used the same ports and now Web sharing wont work 😟
Of course you can't run two web servers on the same ports at the same time.
Either reconfigure your XAMPP configuration to not use port 80, or reconfigure Apple's. Either way should work.
However, I wonder why you need to run two different copies of Apache at the same time... seems to me that you should use one or the other - either Apple's or XAMPP. What are you trying to achieve by running both?
The reason was because the OS X Lion Server had excellent File Sharing options between a network. I did not mean for it to run on the same port but some help would go afar
